As mentioned before in our community update post, LocalCoinSwap is still in MVP and constantly rolling out new updates each Monday, the latest of which is covered here. Although as of writing only 6 weeks in the developers have been doing a great job. Mondays are no longer dreaded things with this to always look forward to!
This week saw a slew of updates for design and integration of new fiat pairs but the juicy point of this article is to let you know that two major cryptocurrency favourites have been added as per the plan keeping the team on track and hitting another win out the park!
With much fanfare and pride I can present to you the latest additions of both Litecoin and Dash to our favourite peer-to-peer exchange! With the additional fiat pairs it has never been so easy and so inclusive to get on board and diversify your portfolio!
Dash is, like many other digital assets, opensource and is supported by a subgroup of users called masternodes creating a decentralised cryptocurrency. Forked from the original bitcoin protocol Dash wanted to address the issues of privacy and faster transactions. It was launched in 2014 and has seen a strong following being listed at rank 13 on coinmarketcap at the time of writing. A fast, untraceable currency, currently seeing huge popularity in Venezuela with their recent market crisis. This coin is showing the real world value cryptocurrency has in the midst of a failing fiat system.
Litecoin is also an open sourced cryptocurrency which enjoys a huge following and vibrant community. It was released in 2011 and is also a fork from Bitcoin. It aims to process a block every 2.5 minutes, outpacing Bitcoins 10 minutes and uses scrypt in its PoW algorithm. Charlie Lee, a well known figure in the crypto community is behind the beginnings of Litecoin and constantly works on the project as part of the greater community ensuring it remains decentralised, free and moving forward in an ever competitive space. At the time of writing it is currently listed as 7th on coinmarketcap.
This is of course just a brief overview of the fantastic new additions and I do encourage you to look into them both further. Lets welcome their communities with open arms and happy that we enable more people to finally join in the crypto space. Now we have added Nepal and the Nepalese Rupee to the platform we might just see our first trades from the mountain climbing community before heading up Mount Everest.
